Vigor Wind is a subsidiary of

Muirhouse Farm, Linlithgow owned by James and Margaret Crawford
Wind is an abundant resource in the Linlithgow area in Central Scotland and Muirhouse Farm has an ideal south west facing position. The Crawfords own and operate 170 acres of arable farming within which the WindcroftTM is positioned around the edge of a 2.2 acre field.
James and Margaret were keen to avoid disruption to the farm and to benefit from renewable energy quickly. Discussions first began with Vigor Wind about WindcroftingTM just before the 2010 Royal Highland Show and as the 2011 ‘Show began so the turbines started to generate renewable energy.
After signing an option on the land, Vigor Wind provided all capital and project management resource including obtaining planning permission and establishing connection to the grid.
In return for a 20 year lease on the land and for providing access for maintenance, James and Margaret are now enjoying an index-linked return and a share in sales to the grid of power generated from the land at Muirhouse Farm.

How does a Vigor Wind partnership work?
The Vigor Wind Windcrofting™ model is simple – we lease the necessary plot of land from you, the land owner, for a minimum period of 20 years and we do all the rest of the work.
To get things moving, we will pay an initial option fee, which gives us a period of time to carry out all the detailed installation plans, apply and get planning consent, ensure all environmental impact issues are assessed and completed and grid connectivity is possible.
On completion of the planning phase, we will then enter into a lease and commence installation.
On commissioning of the site – you the land owner receive:
