Vigor Renewables, the specialist renewable developer, commissioned on May 31 2011 a 500kW peak solar PV roof mounted development on the warehouse roofs of the logistics company, Debach Enterprises Ltd in Ipswich, Suffolk.
The installation, a UK Feed-in Tariff (“FiT”) backed scheme, covers over 60,000ft2 of roof space and is anticipated to generate over 400,000 kWh per year – the installation will supply nearly all of Debach Enterprises’ annual power requirements at this site.
Funding for the development was provided by a number of EIS funds managed by Downing Corporate Finance. This is one of the UK’s largest Solar PV developments commissioned to date under the FiT scheme.
The site has been designed and developed by Vigor Renewables, with Going Solar Limited – a UK based installer, installing the system using panels supplied by Samsung C&T, a UK based arm of the Samsung Group.
We aim to optimize the use of roof or land space to ensure that the most cost effective renewable energy can be generated maximizing the amount of power available to the site owner, while minimizing site disturbance and ongoing maintenance disturbance.

Typically we offer two types of lease arrangement to the site owner.
- Direct lease of the roof or land. In this option the roof or land is simply leased for the term of the contract and generated power is sold to the grid independently of the site owner.
- Power purchase agreement with the site. The second option is to offer the generated energy to the site owner at a fixed and reduced rate for the 25 year life of the contract. This reduced energy tariff will be replacing the lease fee.
