Vigor Renewables aims to be the UK’s leading developer of small and medium renewable power generation sites – providing development, installation, finance and on-going management services to deliver a total turnkey solution.
. We plan to be generating an initial total combined national renewable energy power output of up to 80 MW’s by April 2014.
- Vigor Renewables is a specialist developer of small and medium scale renewable energy developments which provide power to site owners and the National Grid.
- All developments are compliant with and financially benefit from UK Renewable Feed-in Tariffs which were launched in April 2010.
- Vigor Renewables provides a unique development solution to land and site owners through providing a turnkey development - enabling each site owner to financially benefit from Feed-in Tariffs without investing any capital and time resource.
- Vigor Renewables plans to develop up to 80MW’s of renewable energy power developments over the next three years through a combination of small wind and larger scale Solar PV installations.
- While we currently focus on wind and solar PV technology we are always interested to investigate alternative technologies.
- Vigor Renewables is funded by Low Carbon Accelerator, a UK AIM listed venture capital fund – all prospective developments are pre-funded prior to launch enabling the peace of mind and certainty to the site owner that the development will be finished on time and to a pre-agreed specification.

Vigor Renewables is unique, we don’t sell equipment, we don’t advise you on how to develop a site – we provide and deliver the solution.
Established in 2009, Vigor Renewables is a private company, funded by Low Carbon Accelerator a specialist UK AIM listed fund.
Senior Management
Chris Simpson – Chairman
After 10 years with PriceWaterhouse, (both in the UK and USA) Chris spent 25 years running international manufacturing and distribution business across several market sectors including engineering operations supplying, installing and servicing high performance equipment. For 5 years he was a main board Director of Field Group Plc, quoted on the LSE. Since 2005 has held a portfolio of roles, including several independent directorships, advisory roles within the NHS and DEFRA. He is currently Chairman of Proven Energy Limited, Chairman of Renewables UK Steering Committee and an independent director of Whyte Chemicals Limited. He is also on the turnaround panels at both Grant Thornton and at Deloitte.
Oliver Hughes – CEO of Vigor Renewables
& MD of Vigor (Wind) Ltd
Prior to establishing Vigor, Oliver worked in the investment banking industry, focusing on fixed income and structured finance. Oliver started his career with Baring Brothers and subsequently ING Barings, and has long term hands on experience of developing leveraged business structures and managing and developing rapid growth business models. He has been a director of a variety of private and publicly quoted businesses both in the UK and Asia. Oliver was educated at Oxford University and has a degree in Biological Science. As CEO of Vigor, he is responsible for development and operational management of the Vigor group of businesses, where his experience will enable us to achieve rapid growth.
Vigor (Solar) Ltd
Said Bijary – Managing Director
Said has a master’s degree in environmental engineering management and 15 years experience working in the environmental sector. He has developed projects internationally and most recently, whilst a principal consultant with WSP, was the lead technical advisor on the solar development with Masdar as “the world’s first zero carbon city”. He is responsible for the technical and design aspects of Vigor Solar and the installation and development of sites.
Wind Power
Vigor Wind provide turnkey solutions to develop Windcrofts for landowners – we provide all the financial and managerial resource and guarantee a fixed return as well as a share in the sale of power to the national grid.
Solar Power
Vigor Solar provide turnkey solutions for Solar Photovoltaic installations for site occupants to benefit from either an incremental fixed rental return on the property, or a discounted long term fixed power off-take arrangement.
